Casket Sprays & Flowers

Flowers for the casket are a beautiful and elegant way to convey your heartfelt sympathies. Such arrangements as Casket Sprays, Floral Rosaries, Casket Crosses, or Lid Arrangements are usually sent by the immediate family, and meant to be displayed on the casket in an intimate memorial. If you need assistance, please contact our Specialty Sympathy Advisors toll free at 1-866-538-2259.

The tradition of placing casket flowers to memorialize the deceased is believed to have originated over 62,000 years ago. During an archeological dig in the 1950s, in the caves of Northern Iraq, Dr. Ralph Solecki and his team discovered multiple burial sites showing evidence of pollen and flower fragments from eight species of wildflowers. This study concluded that humankind was responsible for roaming the mountainside in search of collecting flowers for the funeral tribute.

Our selection of hand-arranged Casket Flowers includes a wide array of types and color, delivered directly to the funeral home by an expert florist. Due to the personal nature of these arrangements, it is recommended your order is called in to one of our representatives.

Casket Spray: The blanket of flowers that covers the top of the casket, these arrangements are primarily sent by the spouse or immediate family. Also called Casket Covers, they are meant to sit on the lid of the casket, either in half-length sizes for open casket services or full-length for closed casket services.

Satin Casket Cross: A white satin pillow in the shape of a cross is accented with a fresh spray of roses and greens across the center. Meant to be laid within the casket, this arrangement is appropriate to be sent from children in memory of a grandparent or parent.

Satin Casket Heart: An elegant spray of fresh roses and greens are arranged upon a heart-shaped white satin pillow and laid within the casket. Appropriate to be sent from children in memory of a grandparent or parent.

Lid Arrangements: These small floral bouquets, corsages or petite arrangements are typically ordered by the immediate family, to represent a tribute from the children or grandchildren of the deceased.

Flowers for an Infant or Child: Usually smaller than typical funeral flower arrangements, suggested color themes are soft pastel or bright colors. Appropriate arrangements to send include sprays, bouquets, wreath, angels or crosses.
